Homemade & Healthy Desserts

Nothing is more satisfying than freshly-made desserts you can customize to your own sweet tooth. These no-bake dessert recipes are a piece of cake and making them with little ones would surely sweeten their day!

You will need:

  • Tangerines
  • Optional toppings like maple syrup, shaved chocolate, honey, etc.

How to make it:

  1. Add your tangerine slices to a small baking sheet. Then put them in the freezer to set for at least for at least a few hours but preferably overnight.
  2. Remove the tray from the freezer and add the slices to a food processor.
  3. Begin by pulsing for a few minutes to break up and blend the slices. The texture will be dry at first but keep blending and it will continue to get creamier as you blend and scrape down the sides as you go.
  4. Once the mixture is creamy, it’s done! Enjoy your tangerine sorbet!

This recipe by @danishealthyeats is gluten, dairy, and refined sugar free and packed with protein!

You will need:

  • 1-1 ½ frozen bananas
  • ½ cup frozen coconut cream cubes
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • Maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Milk
  • Optional: cauliflower rice
  • Optional: protein powder
  • Optional: ground flax seeds

How to make it:

  1. Mix together ¼ cup protein powder, 2 tbsp peanut butter, 2 tbsp maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt and roll into small balls - these will be your cookie dough bites.
  2. Add your banana, frozen coconut cream cubes, ⅓ cup frozen cauliflower (you can’t taste it), 1 tbsp peanut butter, 1 serving protein powder of choice, 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, 1 tsp vanilla, and a pinch of salt to a blender, adding little bits of milk at a time. Scrape down the sides every so often. Taste and adjust based on consistency.
  3. Layer the dough and “nice” cream into a milkshake cup or jar and enjoy!
