We recommend mixing in these ideas with the tried and true snack staples that you know your child loves. Not all of these ideas will appeal to you (or your toddler) but if you can get a few fun ideas for adding a little more variety into your child’s snack and meal time, then we’ll call it a win!
- Watermelon drizzled with lime juice
- Wheat toast squares with honey butter
- Sweet potato with roasted marshmallows
- Mango cubes with raisins
- Snow peas (softened so they aren’t a choking hazard) with butter and salt
- Strawberries and whipped cream
- Bananas with chocolate chips
- Blueberries with fresh lemonade
- Black berries and yogurt
- Raspberries and more raspberries on top
- Peaches and cream
- Avocado and tomato with salt
- Pickles and deviled eggs
- Crunchy cucumber rounds
- Beet fries with salt (I also love them battered)
- Artichokes and ranch dip
- Plums and ricotta cheese
- Pineapple with lime and mint leaf
- Pear and cottage cheese
- Banana with peanut butter and raisins (slice the banana in half longways and make a sandwich with peanut butter and raisins inside)
- Figs with almond butter on toast
- Baked apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon and caramel sauce (should be baked to soften them so they don’t pose a choking hazard)
- Chickpeas with a dollop of sour cream
- Papaya with lime
- Kiwi slices
- Dragon Fruit with coconut milk
- Oranges slices (a classic!)
- Tangerine wedges with frozen yogurt bites
- Olives with cheese cubes
- Oatmeal energy balls (oats, peanut butter, ground flaxseed, honey, and chocolate chips)
- Black bean dip and crackers (chips not recommended)
- Honeydew melon with maple syrup
- Cantaloupe with Cottage Cheese
- Grapefruit with brown sugar
- Grapes (quartered)
- Fried corn and cheese bites
- Mashed potatoes and turkey rollups
- Medjool Dates with goat cheese and honey
- Hummus with crackers (chips not recommended because they’re a choking risk for small toddlers)
- Pitted cherries
- Cauliflower with melted cheese
- Broccoli with cheese sauce
- Honey glazed carrots (avoid choking hazard by cooking till soft)
- Banana, peanut butter, honey roll-up sprinkled with cocoa powder
- Blended banana icecream
- Soft coconut cubes with yogurt
- Figs with rice cakes and peanut butter
- Fried, battered eggplant
- Mini pumpkin apple muffins
- Spaghetti squash pizza nests (baked in a muffin tin)
- Tater Tots (a kid classic)
- Cinnamon roasted butternut squash
- Glazed, roasted acorn squash wedges
- Green beans with bbq dipping sauce
- Sticky rice balls with sesame seeds
- Cheese bread balls
- Fried plantain with salt (not common but a favorite at our house)
- Fried Zucchini Pizza Bites
- Hard boiled eggs, quartered
- Roasted or fried Ocra
